USE CASE: Peak Health Alliance Analysis of Cost
For the past several years a small working group of partners from Summit County Government, Centura Health System, the Summit Community Care Clinic, the Family and Intercultural Resource Center and the Summit Foundation, have with input from other entities, been working to identify locally driven ways to lower health care premiums.
Project Summary: The Peak Health Alliance is using CO APCD data analyze Summit County claims data to determine:
- the impact of the large employer self-funded insurance population on overall costs; and
- the true cost drivers of high health care costs in Summit County and how those differ from other communities.
Benefit to Colorado: The Peak Health Alliance will use the findings from their analysis to design programs that will help address those cost drivers. This information could also help other counties in the same region address costs.
