Using Data to Drive Healthcare Purchasing: Colorado All Payer Claims Database

Discover how employers can learn from and access the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD) which stores claims and other healthcare information so as to be able to provide comprehensive database on the costs and utilization patterns of healthcare services across Colorado. Attendees will also hear from two representatives from the State about current actions and thoughts on creating a healthcare market that works better for employers and employees.

Jonathan Mathieu, VP of Research & Compliance at CIVHC, will provide an overview on healthcare costs in different areas across the state, examining the cost drivers employers must consider and how costs their region/MSA compares to others.

1:00 pm – How the CO APCD Can Help Employers Purchase Care and Employees Access Care

Ana English, President & CEO of CIVHC, will present specific ways that employers can access and utilize the CO APCD when purchasing care and how employees and other consumers can access helpful information about cost and quality.

2:00 pm – The Role of the State in Transforming Healthcare

Lawrence Miller, Consulting Health Transformation Advisor and Kyle Brown, Policy Director for Health & Human Services, for the Colorado Governor’s Office will discuss the role the State, both as a government entity and as an employer, in helping to create a more transparent, vibrant healthcare market
