Improving Access to Palliative Care Across Colorado

Palliative care services are essential to improve the quality of life for patients and families experiencing severe illness. The third Palliative Care in Colorado report shows positive trends in the number of providers offering palliative care and patients receiving services. However, barriers such as reimbursement and provider and patient education still exist.

CIVHC developed the map below in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to help patients and providers locate Palliative Care Services near them. The data in the map and report is based on a survey performed by Hospice Analytics with financial support from CDPHE, Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Finance (HCPF), and the American Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network. Special thanks to all of the contributors who made the report and map possible.
